Beginners (Treat Own Patients) Pathway
The Beginners (Treat Own Patients) Pathway is for dentists who are new to implant dentistry and would prefer to treat their own patients, under the guidance of an experienced local colleague of their own choosing, for their Clinical Cases (Module 6) requirement.
Delegates on the Beginners (Treat Own Patients) Pathway* will satisfy the Module 6 (Clinical Cases) requirements by treating at least 3 of their own patients under the supervision of their Local Mentor. Delegates on this pathway may approach one of the mentors on our Accredited Mentors List or may nominate one of their own colleagues to act as their Local Mentor**.
Mentoring fees are not included on this pathway. Financial arrangements on mentoring fees must be decided between the Local Mentor and the delegate. The Academy has no involvement on mentoring fee arrangements.
The Academy cannot guarantee that any mentors on the Accredited Mentors List will agree to act as a mentor. This pathway is best suited to delegates who have sufficient numbers of their own patients for implant treatment and have a local colleague who can act as their Local Mentor**.
Delegates on this pathway must complete 3 Mentored Cases within 3 years of the start of their DipImpDent course.
If you do not think that you will have a sufficient number of your own patients, or you will not have access to a colleague to act as your Local Mentor, the Beginners (Provided Patients) Pathway may be a better option for you.
